Volunteer? Me? Absolutely! But why?

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12

God has blessed each of us to be a blessing to others.

Here are just a few reasons to get involved in ministry at Immanuel and our community:

  • To help others
  • To build friendships and have fun
  • To exercise your gifts or skills
  • To be an agent of change
  • To realize your life purpose
  • To be a role model for the next generation
  • To be a part of a close-knit team

Volunteer Opportunities

Immanuel Lutheran can help you to be a part of the body of Christ through all kinds of volunteer opportunities. We want to help you find your ministry, whether it's by helping with Vacation Bible School, serving as an usher on Sunday, joining one of our ministry teams or aiding in mission work at home or abroad.

Here is a list of some of the opportunities for you to get involved. Let us know that you would like to volunteer!

  • Adult Education & Small Group Leaders (or Hosts)

If you have skills for leading others, consider leading an Adult Education class or leading a Small Group!

  • Building & Grounds Maintenance

If you have a knack for fixing things, gardening, or any other creative gift, we'd love to incorporate your talents here at Immanuel!

  • Nursery Help

Do you love little kids? Would you like to help young parents grow in faith? Each Sunday morning, we offer two different Adult Education opportunities in the Social Hall and Chapel. To encourage young couples with small children to attend these classes, we want to offer childcare in the nursery during Sunday School (8:30-9:15 a.m.) and during worship as well (9:30-10:30 a.m.). Would you be willing to help occasionally with this ministry?

  • Office Assistance

If you have an hour or two free during the week, consider helping to fold the bulletins for a Sunday's service or fold the monthly newsletter! Many hands create light work!

  • Readers & Greeters & Ushers

Whether you have a great speaking voice, a welcoming handshake, or desire to be a great host or hostess on Sunday mornings, we need your assistance! We would not have a great worship experience without readers, greeters and ushers!

  • Sunday School Teachers & Youth Event Leaders

Each Sunday morning, we are thankful for the teachers who help young minds discover the truth and abundance of God's love through engaging Sunday School classes! We also appreciate volunteers to assist and lead youth events!

  • Tech Assistants

Do you enjoy working with computers? We’re looking for people to help with our video projection during worship. Two people are needed each Sunday--one for sound and recording, and the other for lights and the camera. You will be trained. To find out more, talk to Brad Waline or Trent Whipple or contact Pastor Kurt.
